Previous appellate proceedings resulted in the remand of this action for trial of the counterclaim asserted by defendant, R. Bruce Trimble, in which he sought recovery on the theory of bad faith breach of insurance contract. See Farmers Group, Inc. v. Trimble, 658 P.2d 1370 (Colo. App. 1982), affd, 691 P.2d 1138 (Colo. 1984). At that trial, evidence was adduced supporting the circumstances as described in the above opinions. The jury returned a verdict in favor of defendant on his counterclaim, and against plaintiff insurance companies (companies), awarding defendant $170,000 in compensatory damages. The opposing parties appeal, and we affirm.
